ABSTRACT:

According to the World Health Organization, health is not merely the absence of disease but a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.  The real meaning of being healthy is focusing on yourself and adopting healthy ways of living.  After independence in India, health has been one of the main goals facing the country.  There have always been obstacles in bringing health facilities to the rural people of the country.  Health problems are especially acute in rural areas.  For all these situations there is a lack of expertise in primary health centers created to deal with diseases in rural areas. A factor responsible for the poor health status of rural women is their lack of nutrition.  Due to the lack of nutrition, conditions like malnutrition have arisen and due to this many types of diseases are prevalent.  More than half of India's villages suffer from anomie due to lack of essential nutrients.  About 22 thousand women especially pregnant women die of anomia in India.  A number of social, economic and personal factors are responsible for the poor health status of rural women.  Sanitation, education, lack of awareness, poor economic status, traditions, customs, husbandry, heavy physical labor, irregular diet, feticide, frequent births etc. are considered responsible for many factors.

INTRODUCTION:

Research according to IP Desai is a mental process.  In which one has to go through different stages from choosing a research question to writing a report.  In which the research process has to be carried out scientifically neutral and keeping in mind the code of conduct.  A research design is formulated when the researcher selects a question.  In which the basic information of the entire research management has to be clarified.  In the present research, coupled with the idea of current news papers, the cases of divorce are increasing day by day.  Indian society is transforming from an underdeveloped society to a developing society.  India being a democratic country, it is essential to promote and promote education among all its communities and classes.  Indian women in medieval times lived under many restrictions, restrictions and taboos.  His social status was very low.  The arrival of the British brought a touch of liberalism so that in order to develop any nation or society, efforts should be made to create awareness among the people and raise the position of women in the society.  This is why self.  Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru has said that to create awareness among people we have to first create awareness among women.  If there is awareness among women, the family will progress.  Therefore, the present research has been tried to understand from a sociological perspective focusing on loose manipulation as a social problem.

RESEARCH QUESTION:

Divorce as a Social Problem: A Sociological Study (Focus on Ahmadabad City)

OBJECTIVES OF THE RESEARCH:

·         What are the reasons responsible for divorce?

·         What problems do divorced sisters face?

·         To understand the social status of divorced women.

·         Placement of divorced women in pier.

·         To know the socialization issues of children of divorced women.

·         Financial problems of divorced women.

·         To understand society's point of view towards divorced women

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:

Research method has to be chosen based on the type of information to be obtained while undertaking the research, in which, survey method to obtain numerical data while unit study to obtain qualitative data, FGD.  Participatory observation method is also used.  Since the present research is of student level, sample survey method has been used for the purpose of obtaining numerical data.

Factors for selection of research question :-

Any research question needs to have specific reasons for selection.  In which the reason behind choosing the presented research question is the graduation level course as well as M.  a.  In Semester-1 and 2, I got an understanding of the problem of loose ends in women's problems and how it is at present.  To find out, the presented research question becomes a factor in choosing.

Source of data :-

It is imperative to discuss the source of obtaining research data.  In which primary or secondary information is kept in mind.  In primary or field work, information is obtained by discussing with the respondents face to face, it can be called as primary data, in which primary data was used in the source of information to know the problems of divorced women.

Sample Selection :- Vimal.  P.  Shah's book research design mentions probabilistic and non-probabilistic methods for sample selection.  Since the present research is of student level, the sample was selected purposefully and using available samples in non-probability and a divorced woman was selected as sample using snowball technique.

Technique of obtaining information :-

When studying through sample survey method, one has to think about the technique of obtaining information while making a research design.  Interview schedule was used to collect data in the present research.  At this point you have to think.  In the present research, an interview schedule was prepared according to the mentor's opinion and filled based on face-to-face interview with the divorced women, in which two types of questions, closed and open-ended, were discussed.

EXPERIENCES DURING RESEARCH :-

Studies done while deciding the research question

This was the first research experience in our student days.  So many research questions were formulated, but they lacked a sociological perspective.  Many researchers experienced time and financial limitations as well as limitations in obtaining samples when formulating research questions to mentors.  Therefore, keeping in mind all these things, it was decided to understand the social status of the divorced sisters as the proportion of girls in the group was high.

Experience when seeking information :-

When we approached divorced women, many women refused to give information, while many women were silent or serious when giving their information, their anguish was evident on their faces.  It was painful to know about their problems but while keeping in mind the neutrality of the research and trying to save the situation, there was a thought that it would be better if the marriage did not happen.

Experiences during data classification and analysis :-

Since it was our first research as a student, there were many difficulties in creating data tables. We felt that we wish we had learned to do research in the graduate class itself, but the proper guidance of the mentor helped a lot in overcoming the limitations of our lack of experience.

IMPORTANCE OF STUDY:

·         The importance of obtaining an M.A. degree was at first sight.

·         Being sisters, it was important to understand the social, economic status of the divorced sisters.

·         What kind of problems divorced women face.  It is important to understand.

·         Learning from research based on presented research was important.

·         It was important that the research presented be useful to future students.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY:

·         As a student the first research was that the present study had limitations.

·         There was a limitation that could not be generalized to all societies based on small samples.

·         Often the visit schedule was incompletely filled was also a limitation in the present research.

·         Only, social status of divorced sisters residing in Ahmedabad city was considered.

·         Lack of experience as a researcher was also a limitation of the presented research.

FINDINGS OF THE STUDY :

The present research found that divorce was a problem in most every caste group.  That is, this problem is not associated with any particular caste group, this problem touched every group of society.

·         Majority 16 (88%) women of the study had married within their own caste group.  That is, the divorce took place despite the elder arranged marriage.  It is generally discussed in the society that the divorce rate of inter-caste (love marriage) or inter-religious marriages is high.  But from the present research it is concluded that the rate of divorce is higher in first marriages arranged by parents or elders.

·         Majority of the respondents of the study (44%) had to divorce due to harassment from in-laws.  This baba denotes the lower tailor of a woman.  Reasons like suspicion, husband's relationship with another woman, addiction, bakery, husband being impotent were found in the rest of the respondents.  But it can be concluded that more women divorce due to domestic violence.  Most of the divorced women were facing economic and social problems.  In which one had to listen to the taunts of the society that divorced women have to face the problems of maintenance of themselves and children.  Which could be held responsible for the traditional role of women and society's indifference towards female education.

·         Majority of the respondents 18(100%) said that due to divorce they were misbehaved at the parental home i.e. by peer party.  Such a condition can often lead a woman to commit suicide.

·         Mostly 88% of women admitted that the most bad behavior from brother-in-law in Pierre and frequent humiliation by sister-in-law was taunting.  Thus it is concluded that the circle of a divorced woman goes down in the society.

·         Majority 83% had no special financial support after divorce making child support a major issue of their financial problems.  In such circumstances they have to work which may have negative effects on the child's socialization.  Most of the women lived in Pierre after divorce.  So he had to live dependent on the members of the Peer party.  So women suffered a lot of mental pain.  Thus, the traditional attitude towards women in Indian society can create many problems for women.  Such a conclusion is found.  Most of the divorced women (55%) lived with their children so that their problem was seen in children's education, burden of nutrition.

·         Majority 61% of women were employed after divorce.  In such a situation there would be a lot of conflict between preserving the family, housework, as well as job, child custody which would lead to family strife in Pierre's side.  Why did not all divorced women want to marry again?  His first marriage was so miserable that he did not marry again even though he was allowed.
